“Safe Mode Off” is an exhibition of photographs by Alex Steed and Gustavo Turner chronicling recent years in the adult industry. It opened October 29, 2026 at Kinza Kōbō gallery in Highland Park, Los Angeles, and runs for three weeks.

Steed shows color prints from his ongoing collaboration with director and performer Casey Calvert. His images subvert preconceptions about both documentary image-making and porn promotional shots. They capture Calvert in professional and personal situations from an unusually close, intimate perspective.

Turner is a journalist who has covered the industry for more than ten years, including several as news editor for XBIZ. He shows black-and-white prints of industry luminaries, including Angela White, Remy LaCroix, Riley Reid, Chloe Cherry, Mark Spiegler, Stoya, Ana Foxxx, Romi Rain, Octavia Red, Ivy Wolfe, Siri Dahl and Marica Hase.

“This is the adult industry as you’ve never seen it before,” said Turner.

Kinza Kōbō, 5430 Monte Vista Street, Highland Park, Los Angeles. On view through November 19.
